Chapter 12. Using Advanced Animation Tec... > Segmenting Sequences with Scenes

Segmenting Sequences with Scenes

When your projects evolve into movies with hundreds of frames, it might be time to start applying scenes in Flash. Under unfettered circumstances, you can use scenes with relative impunity, chopping up the movie as you like. When you publish, Flash compiles the SWF file and plays each scene in order.

The problem with scenes is that they can interrupt the transfer of certain key variables or instructions in your movie. In some cases, these variables get lost because Flash views the new scene as a reset and doesn't carry over the information. In this case, loading a new movie is probably the solution over using another scene.
