Did You Know?

The environment surrounding a Flash movie plays an important role in the user experience. It's easy to forget when you're testing a movie that something's probably going to be surrounding the movie—something such as an HTML page or the computer's desktop.

This chapter covers some of the less complex ways of interacting with the world outside the Flash movie. These include changing the way the movie appears onscreen, as well as interacting with the computer.

Movies that either are played outside a Web page in the external Flash Player or have been turned into projectors have some special options as well. Projectors can be used in applications ranging from screensavers to CD-ROM interfaces to kiosks.

For more on this topic, take a look at the chapters in Part VIII, "Controlling the Environment."
