Did You Know?

  • The following keyboard shortcuts can be used for tools found in this chapter: I for the Ink Bottle; U for the Paint Bucket, and D for the Dropper tool.

  • Use the Ink Bottle to quickly apply strokes to shapes on the stage. You must have the stroke set up in the Stroke panel before you apply the effect.

  • Build complex, customized lines using the Line Style panel under the Custom option found in the Stroke panel. Click the black arrow on the right to access this box.

  • The Swatches panel enables you to save your colors as Flash Color Set files (CLR) that you can store, share with other developers, and import into other files. Additionally, you can import Color Table files (ACT) from Photoshop exports.

  • Software packages are available that let you convert corporate PANTONE colors to Web-based RGB or hexadecimal values. This might be as close as you can get to actual corporate standards. For more information, check out http://www.pantone.com.

  • CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) colors can be converted in applications such as Photoshop to render RGB values. But the conversion might not be completely accurate.
