Chapter 4. Modifying Shape Attributes > Applying Fills with the Paint Bucket

Applying Fills with the Paint Bucket

Recall that fills are used to bring color into a predefined area. In this section, you'll be reviewing two Flash utilities that really work hand in hand to affect this task. The Fill panel lets you designate various types of Fill effects, ranging from the color you will use to special effects, such as bitmap applications. The Paint Bucket tool fills up certain areas with these effects, with varying adjustments available to fine-tune the fill and to compensate for the shape being modified.

Working with the Fill Panel

Start with the Fill panel by choosing Window, Panels, Fill. You'll see the panel shown in Figure 4.7. The selections are fairly straightforward. A solid fill lets you designate the color you want to use (click the color box below the drop-down menu on the Fill panel when Solid Color is selected to bring up your current Swatches palette).
