Chapter 19. Controlling Sound with ActionScript > Starting and Stopping Sounds

Starting and Stopping Sounds

After a sound has been attached to a Sound object instance (the variable that's set to new Sound()), you can start and stop the sound. The sample movie has two buttons that start and stop the sound.

The start method plays the current sound attached to the Sound object from its beginning, or from a point in the sound that you specify in seconds. You also can set the number of times the sound will loop.
