Linking Sounds

If you don't include a sound somewhere in a movie's timeline, it won't be automatically exported when the movie is published. Because sounds that are controlled by the Sound object aren't typically used in the timeline, you must tell Flash that sounds will be used in the movie, so that they are included in the SWF file.

The Library menu's Linkage dialog box is where you tell Flash you want to use a sound with the Sound object (see Figure 19.1). The Linkage dialog box enables you to specify a name for the sound (which can be distinct from the name of the library item).
