Chapter 15. Actionscript Syntax > Using Navigation Commands

Using Navigation Commands

The navigation commands send a playhead (the indicator showing which frame is being displayed onscreen) to a specific point in a timeline. In addition to the main timeline, each movie clip has its own timeline and playhead, and each one can be moved with a navigation command.

Note

Navigation commands cause the immediate movement of the playhead. You shouldn't assume that actions in the action list following a navigation command will be executed. They should always appear at the end of a statement block.
