And... Key Timeline

I’ve mentioned several ways to use your keyboard to make working in Flash easier and faster. The only thing is that most of these shortcuts had to do with the interface or tools. But what about the Timeline? Good question. The most important keys of all to remember in Flash are those that allow you to quickly edit the Timeline. The only difference is that with these you’ll need to use your mouse on occasion to ensure you are on the right layer or frame. So without further ado...F5 is Insert Frame(s), SHIFT-F5 is Remove Frame(s), F6 is Insert Keyframe(s), SHIFT-F6 is Clear Keyframe(s), and F7 is Insert Empty Keyframe(s).

Notice that there is no SHIFT-F7. That is because a blank keyframe is still considered to be a keyframe and therefore you’d just use SHIFT-F6 to clear it. Attention! If you memorize nothing else, memorize these. Going to the menu system every time you use one will make your life way more complicated than it needs to be.
