Seminar Summary

Making a site interactive requires the use of keyframes, buttons, movie clips, and ActionScript. This seminar covered these features. You learned how to make a three-state button and how to set the hit area for the button. You also attached ActionScript to both a button and a frame to give your movie interactivity. You named an instance on the Stage so that it could be called in the ActionScript. You created a load target movie clip instance and targeted movies to this movie clip with the loadMovie action. Things are getting more exciting on The Honeycomb site, and it is beginning to come alive.

In the next seminar, you will create a form for collecting end-user data. This form is designed to collect the data needed for the About Me activity. You will use input text fields and a new feature of Flash MX: components to create the form features. A component is a special type of movie clip that is customizable. You will learn more about this feature in the next seminar as well as throughout different areas of the book.
