The Built-In Math Object

The Math object is a built-in object of Flash that can be used to access and manipulate mathematical functions and constants. As discussed earlier in this book, Flash has many objects. You have been working with the Movie Clip object for much of the interactivity of The Honeycomb site in the workshop of this book. Another object of Flash is the Math object. In Flash, an object can have actions or methods assigned to it, and the Math object is no different. You submit a value to the method, and it returns a result based on that method.

More than 15 actions are attached to the Math object. Table 13.1 describes each of these actions for the Math object.
