Seminar 3. Creating a Movie > Using Tools and Modifiers

Using Tools and Modifiers

The Flash tools in the toolbox work similarly to other graphics application programs you might be used to. Many Flash developers use the Flash drawing tools sparingly for creating their site designs. They prefer to use their favorite graphics applications and import the artwork into Flash. Others use the Flash tools entirely for their designs. It is beneficial to know how the tools work so you can decide which method or combination of methods you want to use to develop your site.

Using the Arrow Tool

One of the most frequently used tools in Flash is the Arrow tool. Regardless of whether you import your artwork or create it in Flash, you need to know how to use this tool. The Arrow tool enables you to select Stage objects to make them active, as you saw while working with merge.fla in the previous topic. When the object is active, you can reposition it on the Stage or modify it.
