What Is Tweening?

Tweening is a term applied to keyframe animation and the creation of the frames to show the change of an object from point A to point B. The following discussion covers both types of tweening—motion and shape—as well as frame-by-frame animation.

Using Motion Tweening

A key component of animation in Flash MX is motion tweening. It’s used often in Flash development for creating many of the animation effects that make a movie come alive. Motion tweens create smooth movement or change of objects on the Stage through the use of size, color, and Stage positioning.
