SUMMARY

As developers and designers turn more and more toward Flash as a front-end application solution, data persistence will increasingly become an issue. Large-scale applications will use sophisticated middle-tier code on remote servers to store data in a variety of ways from databases to text files to serialized objects. Such complex architectures are obviously not an option for smaller-scale applications, such as games and simple tools that are becoming easier and faster to create in Flash than in traditional programming environments. As you have seen, JScript and cookies provide an excellent and practical solution.
