Building Your Own Effects

So how can you build effects like that yourself? Well, one way that you can do that is to use a couple of features that are new to Flash 5: onClipEvent() handlers and the attachMovie() method. If the idea of working with ActionScript gives you the willies, you can skip to the section “Using This Movie as a Template for Your Own Effects.”

You could hand-build a frame-by-frame or tweened animation to duplicate these effects, but what if you actually want to reuse the effect that you come up with using different text?
