Tools of the Trade

When it comes time to debug, Flash has several options that will help you. Some of the simplest options use the Output panel as a means of getting information to you. You can open the Output panel at any time by going to Window, Output (F2), as shown in Figure 17.3. When you test your code or movie, the Output panel is used to display errors in your code, but you will also learn how to manually send information to it.
