Using Navigation Tools to Compile Data

Using a broader conceptualization of navigation, the UI components in Flash Pro can be employed in a wider role than simply loading new materials, changing frames, or linking to external pages. The information in one UI component can be passed to another UI component and/or another UI element in Flash. For example, the List component can be used as a selection menu to place information into another List component. The List UI component is very similar to the ComboBox component in that it provides label and data parameters that can be added either in the Component Inspector or dynamically with code.

So you can see how to pass label and data information dynamically, this next example uses two List UI components and a dynamic text field. The following steps show you how to set it up:
