Hour 4. Applied Advanced Drawing Techniques > Task: Use a Bitmap As a Fill

Task: Use a Bitmap As a Fill

In this task you'll experiment with using a bitmap as a fill. Here are the steps:

1.
Import any raster graphic (.gif, .bmp, .pct, .jpg, or .png) as you did last hour.

2.
Delete the copy on the Stage (don't worry, it's safe in your Library).

3.
From the Color Mixer panel, select Bitmap from the fill style drop-down list. You'll see a thumbnail of your imported graphic. Click the thumbnail to select it.

4.
You'll notice a very small version of the graphic as your current fill color. Use the Brush tool and scribble some shapes on the Stage.

5.
Now you can use the Transform Fill option under the Paint Bucket tool to adjust the tiled bitmap's size, scale, and rotation.
