So far, we’ve created squares and other primitive shapes, but often you’ll need to create a complicated shape using multiple built-in tools. In this section, we’ll see how the drawing tools in Flash can be used to create a television set.

Combining Graphic Elements To Create One Image

The first thing we need is…yup…a box. But this time, we’ll reshape and add to it to make it look like the cabinet of a television set:

  1. Create a new Flash document with Stage dimensions of 280 x 400 and save it astv_set.fla in the 09 folder.

  2. Draw a 200 x 250 pixel rectangle on the Stage with a black stroke. For the fill color, choose the No Fill swatch in the color chooser (the one with a red line through it, as indicated in Figure 9-1). This means no fill will be applied to the rectangle when we draw it.
