Summary

The Actions panel in Flash is where script is written. It is broken down into three sections: Categories, Code Inspector, and the Actions pane. Categories contains the ActionScript elements that come out of the box with ActionScript, and can be used to drag and drop pieces of code into a broader framework. When you aren't sure what an ActionScript element in the Categories pane is, you can right- or Control-click it and choose View Help from the Context menu, or you can select the View Reference from the buttons at the top of the Actions pane.

The Code Inspector section shows all of the objects and keyframes that contain ActionScript in a document. Clicking on an item in the Code Inspector will move the Actions pane to the script on that selection.
