Mask Effects

You can use motion tweening to create mask effects in Flash, which can serve as transition for static images or embedded video. In Chapter 10, “Layers and the Timeline,” we saw that masking was a property of a layer, which makes it ideal for making transition effects.

To make a proper mask effect, you'll need two layers. One layer will contain the animation, which will serve as the transition. The other will be the layer that the transition affects.
