Tween Settings

The Property Inspector with includes a number of settings that alter how the animation executes. Those settings are summarized in table 21.1.

Table 21.1. Motion Tween Settings
SETTINGPURPOSE
EaseAlters the speed of the animation in the beginning or end. To begin the animation slowly and accelerate towards the end, choose a value between –100 and –1. To begin the animation quickly and slow down towards the end, choose a number between 1 and 100. The total time of the animation remains constant.
RotateRotates a symbol during animation. Auto-rotates the symbol at least once in the direction requiring the least amount of motion. CW rotates clockwise, CCW rotates counter-clockwise.
TimesThe amount of times an object should rotate.
Orient to PathUsed with motion guides. Causes the baseline of the symbol to align with the stroke drawn in the motion guide layer.
SyncUsed with graphic symbols that contain animation. Causes the graphic symbol's tweens to match the number of frames the graphic symbol animates over in the main timeline.
SnapUsed with motion guides. Snaps a symbol to a stroke in a motion guide by the symbol's registration point.
ScaleScales symbols between two keyframes in a motion animation, if the instance in the second keyframe has a different scale than the one in the first.
