Chapter 21. Motion Tweening > What Can Be Motion Tweened?

What Can Be Motion Tweened?

When we are building motion tweens, we must first convert our visual assets into symbols, as only symbols can be motion tweened. Button symbols, Movie Clip symbols, or Graphic symbols, it doesn't matter, whichever is handier for the type of animation you're building.

NOTE

If you try to motion tween an asset that is not a symbol, Flash will convert it to a graphic symbol automatically, in each keyframe that the symbol appears. These symbols will show in your library as Tween 1, Tween 2, and so forth.
