Summary

Flash MX 2004 makes use of layers and timelines to organize visual content. The Layer pane and the timeline are integrated.

Layers in Flash can be added, removed, and organized to control the stacking order of assets. In addition, layers have special properties to mask content. Guide layers are used largely for positioning or tracing, and motion guide layers allow you to control the path of a motion-tweened object. Layer folders give you a way to maximize your layer pane space by dragging layers into them and then collapsing the folder.
