Chapter 16. Graphic and Font Symbols > Editing a Graphic Symbol - Pg. 95

Graphic and Font Symbols PROPERTY W H X Y Swap Loop Play Once Single Frame Color PURPOSE Used to change the width of the symbol asset. Used to change the height of the symbol asset. Used to specify the X coordinate where the symbol should be located. Used to specify the Y coordinate where the symbol should be located. 95 Allows you to switch out one symbol instance for a different instance of a different symbol in the library. If the symbol instance contains animation, loop will play the animation continuously for as many frames as the symbol instance occupies. If the symbol contains animation, the animation will play one time, regardless of how many frames the symbol instance occupies. If the symbol contains animation, this setting allows you to specify a frame to show, skipping the animation entirely. Allows you to change brightness, tint, alpha (opacity), or, under the advanced option, a combination of RBB and Alpha. In addition to the settings you change in the Property Inspector, you can change scale and rotation of a graphic symbol using the Free Transform tool, Transform panel, or by choosing an option from Modify > Transform. To disassociate a symbol from its definition in the library, select the symbol and choose Modify > Break Apart. This will break the symbol back down into its constituent assets, but will not retain the symbol's layer structure. Everything will be placed in the layer that the broken apart symbol was already in.
