Static Content

In Flash, static content is anything inherent to the application that is not being retrieved from some external source when the piece runs in a browser, over a network, or off a CD-ROM. This content is added to the application either by importing, drawing, or writing information in and can include text, sound, video, and bitmapped images. Granted, that pretty much covers anything that can be used in Flash.

Static text is text that is added by means of the text tool, and embedded in the SWF. You add static text visually by choosing the tool, and selecting the Static text option in the Property Inspector, then clicking and typing text out on the Stage.
