Navigational Conventions

Navigation is the beating heart of usability. It's what allows a user to get from A to B to complete tasks and look up information, and generally consists of buttons, location indication, and the hierarchy of the site.

NOTE

General, or global, navigation almost always indicates the main site areas that you can visit, and as a result, shows the site hierarchy almost by default.
