Summary

Buttons are symbol types in Flash that are both reusable and able to be controlled with ActionScript. We use buttons to add interactivity to a Flash application.

Buttons have four frames that can contain graphics. Those are the Up, Over, Down, and Hit frames. The Hit frame itself is invisible; the graphics in the hit frame determine the interactive area of the button. You can make your buttons more compel ling by adding graphics, as well as animated movie clips and short sounds.
