Summary

Sampling frequency is measured in hertz (Hz) and kilohertz (kHz). The higher the Hz the better the sound. Frequencies and bit rates play roles in your sound file size, as well as the length of the sound and whether it is stereo or mono. Flash MX supports three main import sound formats: WAV, AIFF, and MP3. Once a sound has been imported into your document, it can be placed into a Timeline. A sound file doesn't always have to be placed on a Timeline. It can also be linked to a Timeline through ActionScript. Use the sound object when you need more control over the sound.
