Lesson 7. Programming with ActionScript > Using the Color Object to Create Rand...

Using the Color Object to Create Random Colors

The color object lets you set and retrieve the RGB color value and transform settings of a movie clip. You can actually modify the color of any instance of a movie clip on the stage. In this exercise, you create a new color object to control the color of each instance of the Tack Clip movie clip. You won't actually modify the color of the Tack Clip movie clip, but you will use the setRGB method of the color object to modify the Tack Color movie clip that it contains. (You'll learn more about just what an object is later in this exercise.)

Before you begin, make sure that you have the Tack Clip movie clip from map8.fla open.
