Lesson 7. Programming with ActionScript > Modifying Movie-Clip Properties

Modifying Movie-Clip Properties

Movie clips have several properties, including alpha, x, y, xscale, and yscale. You can use ActionScript to retrieve the value of these properties. You can also use ActionScript to change those values dynamically.

When you use a movie-clip property in ActionScript, you must first reference the target path of the movie clip with the property you want to retrieve or control. You used a target path in the preceding exercise, when you referenced the target this for the startDrag and stopDrag methods. You'll learn more about how to use target paths in this exercise.
