Lesson 7. Programming with ActionScript > Making a Draggable Movie Clip

Making a Draggable Movie Clip

Drag-and-drop interactivity is easy in Flash 5, and it can be very useful for shopping carts, navigational elements, games, and interactive maps. You can use the startDrag action to make a movie clip draggable while a movie is playing. The movie clip to which the startDrag action or method is applied remains draggable until it is explicitly stopped by the stopDrag action or until another movie clip is targeted with startDrag. Only one movie clip can be dragged at a time.

If the map2.fla symbol library isn't open, you'll need to open it before beginning this exercise. Either click the library icon in the launcher bar (the book icon) or choose Window > Library.
