Input Text

You can build your Flash project to gather information directly from the viewer—information such as a log-in name and password, personal information for a survey, answers to quiz questions, requests for an online purchase, or responses in an Internet chat room. You assign these user inputs, which Flash calls input text, to a variable so that they can then be passed along to other parts of the Flash movie for further processing, or sent to a server-side application through the CGI GET or POST method.

The following task demonstrates how you can use input text to let your user control the parameters of an action. In this case, you will accept information from the viewer in an input text box and use that information to load a URL.
