Transforming Elements

You movie wouldn't be very interesting if all of its elements were the same size or all of them were perpendicular to the stage. Transforming elements by scaling, rotating, skewing, and flipping them can add variety to your overall design. Such transformations also have a substantial effect on animation (for more information see Chapter 10, "Using Animation to Build Movement" ).

Scaling

When you resize or scale elements, you make them proportionately or disproportionately bigger or smaller by adjusting their width or height. Scaling changes an element's dimensions without changing its basic graphical structure.
