Understanding the Timeline

The timeline is where the bulk of the animation process takes place. This is where you control how fast a movie element moves, when it enters and exits the scene, and its depth in relation to other elements in the scene (Figure 10.3). Most of what you'll learn in this chapter will also apply to animating symbols'timelines (especially graphic and movie-clip symbols).
