Smart Clips

Imagine being able to use movie clips whose powerful ActionScript capabilities you could configure not by changing the script via the Actions panel but simply by altering parameter settings in a dialog box. That's what Smart Clips allow you to do. This means that even someone without scripting experience can easily configure a movie clip by simply entering custom values for those parameter settings (Figure 12.25).

Figure 12.25. Smart Clips let you take the values that determine how a movie clip instance appears and functions (as shown by gray boxes in the Actions panel on the left) and turn them into a set of parameters that users can easily set without looking at the actual script.
