Chapter 7. Using Non-Flash Graphics > Modifying Bitmapped Fills

Modifying Bitmapped Fills

You can modify—scale, rotate, and skew—bitmapped fills the same way you would modify gradient fills.

To move a bitmapped fill's center point:

1.
In the Toolbox, select the paint bucket tool.

2.
Choose the Transform Fill modifier, and make sure that Lock Fill is deselected (Figure 7.15).

Figure 7.15. The Transform Fill modifier appears at the bottom of the Toolbox when the paint bucket is selected.

The pointer changes to the transform- fill arrow.

3.
Position the pointer over the shape with the bitmapped fill you want to modify.

4.
Click.

Handles for manipulating the fill appear (Figure 7.16).

Figure 7.16. Clicking the bitmapped fill pattern with the Transform Fill modifier brings up handles for modifying the tiles.

5.
Drag the center-point handle to reposition the center point of the fill (Figure 7.17).

Figure 7.17. Drag the center point of the selected tile to change the way the tiling pattern fits within the object.

Repositioning the center point changes the way the tiling pattern fits within your shape.
