Choosing Actions

In Normal mode, the Actions panel provides two ways for you to select action statements to include in an ActionScript: You can choose items from a drop-down hierarchical menu, or you can choose items from a scrolling hierarchical list.

To use the Add Statement menu:

1.
In the Frame Actions panel, click the Add Statement button (the one with a plus sign).

A menu of action-statement categories appears.

2.
Choose a category.

A submenu of action statements appears (Figure 12.5).

Figure 12.5. The hierarchical Add Statement pop-up menu lists actions to choose from.

3.
Choose a statement.

Flash adds the chosen statement to the Actions list: the window in the top-right section of the Actions panel.
