Using Sounds in Flash

To add sound to Flash movies, you must attach sound clips to keyframes. You access sounds and control synchronization of sounds via the Sound panel. You can also call up Flash's simple sound-editing tools through the Sound panel.

To access the Sound panel:

  • If the Sound panel is not currently active, from the Window menu, choose Panels > Sound (Figure 14.1).

Figure 14.1. To access the Sound panel, choose Window > Panels > Sound (top) or click the Show Instance button in the Launcher bar (bottom).

The Sound panel opens or comes to the front if you've grouped it with other panels (Figure 14.2).

Figure 14.2. Using the Sound panel, you can attach sounds to keyframes, set synchronization, and perform simple sound-editing operations.
