Research Focus

In terms of ERP system implementations, change management is a planned approach to integrating technological change. Initially, formal processes are applied to assess the impact the new system will have on individuals within the organization and on the way they perform their roles. Then change techniques are adopted to prepare users to accept the change and modify their cognitive set. These processes and techniques provide the impetus for a positive behavioural change to take place and lay the groundwork for a successful implementation. The specific research questions addressed in this chapter are:

  • What is the impact of Employee Self-Service (ESS) in large organizations?

  • What are the change management issues associated with this B2E solution?
