What's Next?

In this chapter, you experimented with examples of setting style properties for your text and links. You should now be comfortable with controlling horizontal alignment, creating first line indents, setting the line height, controlling letter and word spacing, underlining or overlining, and capitalization. You should also know now how to create your own custom elements by applying styles to the SPAN element. In addition, you should be practiced in controlling the appearance of hypertext links.

Next, in Part IV, “Working with Block Elements and Objects,” you learn how to apply style properties to block elements and objects. In Chapter 9, “Formatting Block Elements,” you learn about the CSS formatting model and how to specify alignment, margins, padding, and other formatting characteristics to block elements.
