Chapter 6. Working with Colors and Backgrounds

In this chapter, you review examples of using styles to control foreground colors, as well as background colors and background images. In HTML 4 and XHTML 1, all of the elements and attributes that control the presentation of foreground colors, background colors, and background images have been deprecated (p. 82) in favor of using styles to achieve the same or better results. CSS not only enables you to more efficiently achieve all of the color effects achievable through HTML, but also gives you many more options for controlling and adding colors and backgrounds in your pages.
