Using the Example File

For this chapter's example file, you can just continue using the Northwest Travel Ideas example, nwtravel.html, you were working with in the previous chapter. You'll want to start fresh with a new style sheet, however, so first open it in your text editor and delete the styles from the page's STYLE element. You can also remove the two EM elements you added to the initial heading and paragraph. Then just resave your file as nwtravel2.html in your working folder. Here's a listing of what your file should look like starting out:

<h2>Western Washington</h2>
<p>The west side of the state is quite different from the east side and
encompasses three main areas: the Puget Sound basin, Cascade Mountains (western
flanks), Olympic Peninsula, and Southwest Washington.
<h3>The Puget Sound Basin</h3>
<p>The Puget Sound basin encompasses a wide range of different topological and
geographical regions and locales, including the lowlands and foothills running
along the western shore of Puget Sound, the Kitsap Peninsula on the eastern side
of Puget Sound, and the San Juan Islands. The major metropolitan area within the Puget Sound basin is centered around the city of Seattle. Other important
metropolitan areas include Everett, Tacoma, Bellingham, Olympia, and Bremerton.
<h4>The Seattle Area</h4>
<p>The Seattle area encompasses the city of Seattle, two major satellite cities,
Bellevue and Renton, as well as a variety of different suburbs, including
Shoreline, Lynnwood, Bothell, Woodinville, Redmond, Kirkland, Kent, and Federal
Way, for instance. Here are some suggestions for things to do or places to go
when vacationing in the Seattle area:
