What's Next?

In this chapter, you learned about three very important concepts in CSS: cascading, grouping, and inheritance. You should now be familiar with how properties from multiple style sheets cascade, how selectors can be grouped to make style sheets smaller and more efficient, and what inheritance is and how it works in CSS.

This is the end of Part II, “Understanding Basic Concepts.” You should now have a good grounding in the basic concepts that underlie CSS and be ready to move onto learning about more specific aspects of CSS. In Part III, “Working with Colors, Fonts, and Text,” you learn how to work with colors and backgrounds, set font and text properties, as well as control the look and feel of your hypertext links.
