Browser Controls

Fortunately there are options available to the viewer of a site. All major browsers come equipped with font-size adjustment controls that allow users to scale the text of a site larger or smaller to suit their preference. In most browsers, the text-scaling options can be found in the View menu, or by pressing Ctrl-+ or Ctrl--(minus).

If all worked according to plan, we’d end here and fill the next few pages with doodles and amusing anecdotes. But we can’t, because there’s a problem: Fonts sized with the px unit don’t scale in Internet Explorer for Windows.
