Page Areas

Before the browser can put content on paper, it needs to know the dimensions of the area that can be printed on. This area depends on the size of the paper that is being used and the width of the margins around the edges of the paper. Also, the browser needs to know if the page should be printed in “portrait” or “landscape” mode (see Figure 12.3). After all this is established, the page area has been defined and printing can start.
