Setting Link Styles

Most browsers allow you to specify link colors for different states (a link, a visited link, and an active link) in the <body> tag of the document. With CSS, you can define not only color, but also any other CSS properties that you want the links to have.

Although a link is a tag (<a>), its individual attributes are not. To set these properties, you have to use the pseudo-classes associated with each one (Code 24.1). See the sidebar "Not Really a Class" on the next page.
