Setting the Position from the Top and Left

In addition to the margins, which can be specified as part of the box properties (see "Setting an Element's Margins" in Chapter 7), a positioned element can have a top value and a left value (Code 8.2). These values are used to set the element's position from the top and left edges of its parent element or relative to its natural position (Figures 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5).

Code 8.2. After you set the position type, you can set the element's top and left distance from its origin. The origin for the element is the window's top-left corner, its parent's top-left corner, or relative to its own top-left corner.
