Adding a Flash Animation

Flash originally was intended to offer an alternative animation format to GIF animation for the Web. Although it can offer much more than that now, Flash is still an excellent choice for adding simple animations with a small file size, and you can still use it for that purpose in conjunction with DHTML.

For the Flash animation shown in Figure 27.15, I wanted to add movement to a logo. The logo is a moon covering a sun, with a starburst glow coming off the edge of the moon. I wanted to animate the moon slowly moving across and then eclipsing the sun.
