Adding DHTML Animation

Earlier in this book, I showed you how to create simple point-to-point animation (see "Animating an Object" in Chapter 14). Although this technique is highly effective for moving a single object in a straight line, more complex animations are better created with a program such as GoLive, because the calculation and timing involved are difficult to hand-code.

In the following example, I have set up five layers, each with a different letter of Alice's name (Figure 18.26). After the animation runs, the letters have moved around the page to spell ALICE.
