Moving Objects from Point to Point

Using CSS, you can position an object on the screen (see "Setting the Position from the Top and Left" in Chapter 8); then you can use JavaScript to find the object's position (see "Finding an Object's Top and Left Positions" in Chapter 12). But to make things really dynamic, you need to be able to move things around on the screen by changing the values for the object's position (Code 13.2 and Figure 13.3).

Code 13.2. The moveObjectTo() function changes the position of a particular object in the browser window.
